Do/Dwell Space
Artist Painting Studio and Residence, Cambridge, Massachusetts
This former horse carriage depot is adaptively reused as a work/live. The north-facing double-height space is for working on large format paintings. A mezzanine level is inserted to create areas for sleeping, ablutions, and a home-office overlooking the double-height studio space. A series of perforated metal panels and bookshelves at the mezzanine both spatially separate and visually link the working and living zones.
