Furniture Glyph: Positive Negative Table

Each component of this table is composed of positive and negative spaces, and the table as a whole is also a study in positive-negative relationships.
POSITIVE
The stout vertical legs stand in contrast to the thin horizontal top. These two components are joined together with knock-down bolts so they can be easily separated for transport. The bolts are expressed on the table-top surface, signifying the position of the legs below.
NEGATIVE
The negative spaces created between the legs and under the cantilevering top are for the bodies gathering at the table and bringing order to the chaos of the meal. Extending leaves slide out of the negative spaces at the ends of the table for additional guests. Mangiamo!
